Fund for the Arts Supports
the Louisville Orchestra
The Fund, along with local Government, Corporate
officials, and other private sector leaders are committed
to provide funding to assist in stabilizing the future of
the Orchestra.
Overall support to the Orchestra has increased nearly 10%
per year over the past five years –representing nearly
$6.8M in contributions (including special one time gifts
and loan forgiveness).
Fund for the Arts Campaign Revenue increased
by 53% from Campaign 1995 to Campaign 2002
From Campaign 1995 to Campaign 2002, the
Total Partnership Grants to the Fund for the Arts increased
by 659% from $171,623 to $1,302,956, while undesignated
gifts increased 31.25%.
During 2003, the Fund increased its base
support of the Orchestra by $75,000 as a challenge to support
ticket sales.
From Campaign 1995 to Campaign 2002, The
Orchestra's total Allocation, including Partnership Grants,
increased by 72% from from $986,244 to $1,698,101. (During
the same period, the Orchestra’s Base Allocation increased
25% from $952,850 to $1,190,000).
In 1995, The Louisville Orchestra received
19.06% of the Fund for the Arts Campaign Revenue; In 2002,
The Louisville Orchestra received 20.92% of the Fund for
the Arts Campaign Revenue.
The Louisville Orchestra received 34.6%
of the additional revenue raised by the Fund for the Arts
in 2001.
